If Pressed to Answer, I'd Say Yes! I Care Deeply for the MAC Surf Baby Careblend Pressed Powders - Makeup and Beauty Blog

mac surf baby careblends review

With MAC Surf Baby riding onto counters presently and already hanging ten online, I thought this might be a adept time to wax our surfboards philosophic about 2 superstars from the limited edition collection, the Studio Careblend Pressed Powders in Lush-Lite Bronze and Gold-Go-Lightly ($28 each).

I love the Careblends. Like really, really love them. MAC added the line of sheer-to-medium coverage face powders, arguably some of the company'due south best face products to date, to their permanent line before this year.

Where some tinted face up powders tin look chalky and/or develop cracks and creases, the Careblends, with a stop just shy of a matte, look similar flawless, real pare to me. Lightweight and smooth, they're also a joy to blend, never irritating the combination dry/oily/acne-decumbent peel on my face up.

And the limited edition Careblends MAC included with the Surf Baby release are just equally fab as the 8 shades already living in the permanent line. I've been wearing golden tan Gilded-Get Lightly (reminds me of a matte version of NARS Laguna) and pinkish brown Lush-Light Bronze (goes swell with a tan!) this week to contour, and likewise to requite my confront a warmer expect, much like I would with a bronzing powder.

My routine has gone a little something like this…

  • Forehead — Sometimes a unmarried foundation and pulverisation colour all over my face tin can make my skin appear flat. Dusting a Careblend across my brow, one of the places where the sun would ordinarily autumn, with a big, fluffy pulverisation brush gives the entire face more than realistic dimension through subtle variations in colour.
  • Cheeks — Side by side, to emphasize my cheekbones, I load a small blush brush with one of the Careblends and follow the curves along the lesser of the apples of my cheeks, upwardly toward my ears.
  • Jawline — Then, to farther sculpt the face, I sweep a Careblend forth my jawline with the same small blush brush I used for my cheeks.
  • Eyes — Finally, to actually open up my optics (considering you know my @ss looks hella tired all the time, LOL!), I sweep a Careblend into my creases and forth my lower lash lines with a domed fluffy crease castor.

Surf Baby does also feature two Bronzing Powders, Solar Riche and Refined Aureate ($24 each); I've tried them and think they're solid products, but if I had to cull one or the other, a Bronzing Powder or Careblend, I'd grab 1 of the Careblends in a heartbeat. I just think they're a little easier to employ, useful in a wider range of situations and look more realistic. I've worn them atop bare skin, foundation and fifty-fifty tinted moisturizer, and in every case they've done well.

Wearing Gold-Go Lightly

MAC Surf Baby Studio Careblend

Oh, if y'all struggle with super oily skin, yous might try a 50/50 blend with a Careblend and MAC Blot. While the Careblends seem to handle smooth pretty well, the improver of MAC Blot should actually assist keep oil under command. When I don't blend with Blot, I observe I take to retouch my combination skin most every half-dozen hours (which isn't bad at all).

PRICE: $28 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now online; coming before long to MAC stores and counters (officially, Th, May 26, merely in that location take been rumors of an early on launch tomorrow, so you might want to call your local MAC store/counter to confirm)
MAKEUP AND Dazzler Weblog RATING: A+

Welcome to my world!

Last night I learned that the roads in my neighborhood are being repaved today and tomorrow. I was supposed to move my car to i of the designated safe zones alee of time, but being the lame-o that I am, I didn't practice it concluding night and waited instead until this morning. I figured I would merely exist parking the car around the corner, and then I didn't fifty-fifty bother to change out of my pajamas when I left the house.

Um, bad thought!

By the time I got out there, all of the safe parking places were filled, and so I concluded up having to park 3 blocks abroad and then walk well-nigh x minutes along of the primary streets in town wearing my jammies and lookin' like a crazy person. LOL! Seriously…welcome to my globe.

If you happened to be driving through Novato early this morning and noticed a really short girl in hot pinkish sweats with ratty, uncombed hair — yes, that was me. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen
