Lovato released their debut studio album, Don't Forget, in September 2008. Shortly thereafter in January 2009, they had already begun writing cloth for their sophomore effort. Music video
The music video for "Here We Go Again" was directed by Brendan Malloy and Tim Wheeler, both of whom directed Lovato's video for their earlier single "La La Land" (2008). The music video was filmed on June eight, 2009 in Los Angeles, California. The video premiered on June 26, 2009 on Disney Channel, following the premiere of Princess Protection Program.
